Keep the bar key separate from the message key
A candle can be updated while its interval remains the same. Preserve the instrument, price definition, interval start and period as the declared bar identity. Keep a separate message or version reference for each observation of that bar.
The field names in this guide are invented for the teaching record. They are not asserted to be universal stream fields. A real export may identify starts, ends and finality differently, and those definitions must be established before the rows are merged.
Review three fictional versions of one interval
Assume all three observations refer to the same entered 10:00–11:00 interval. The first has high 102, low 99 and close 101; a second has high 103, low 99 and close 102; a third has high 104, low 98 and close 100. The example explicitly labels the first two provisional and the third final.
There are three update observations but one bar under the supplied identity. Counting each update as a new hourly candle would create a false grid. Keep the original versions when deriving a chosen final view rather than pretending the earlier values were never observed.

A planned interval end is not independent confirmation
A row can contain a scheduled end instant before that instant has occurred. Likewise, your local clock passing the end does not authenticate that a received snapshot is the provider’s final version. Preserve the actual state evidence or mark finality unresolved.
If a later correction arrives, retain its relationship to the prior final-labelled record. Final in one supplied message is not a guarantee that no source correction can ever exist. This guide does not obtain a live stream or certify a dataset.
Align Singapore displays using full instants and conventions
Keep source offsets and dates when showing a Singapore-local diary. Bar-start labels and bar-end labels can identify the same interval under different conventions, but an unexplained clock string is insufficient to connect them. Preserve the original representation and the declared period.
A missing interval is separate from multiple updates of one known interval. Do not fill a true gap by promoting a provisional duplicate into another bar. Also keep price-source differences visible rather than merging bars solely because their times match.
Late arrival is not necessarily a newer bar version
A replay of provisional version A can arrive after final-labelled version C. Sorting only by receipt order could then overwrite the selected final view with older evidence. Preserve source version or event ordering when available, together with receipt time. If the ordering convention is unknown, mark the conflict unresolved rather than assuming the last received message is the latest authoritative state. The example does not prescribe a vendor-specific sequence rule.
Count intervals and versions separately
A reproducible review can report one entered interval, three supplied observations and one final-labelled version under the teaching metadata. It should state which values were selected and why, together with any unconfirmed field meanings.
