Prop Candle Research: Several Updates Can Still Be One Bar

A live candle can arrive in several versions before it closes. Preserve its identity, update order and finality state. Counting every version as another bar can distort both market statistics and the research record used in an evaluation plan.

Read the source’s update definition

Bybit’s kline documentation distinguishes an open updating candle from a closed candle through its confirm field. That is a named schema example, not a claim that every provider uses the same field or that HashHedge exposes this stream.

Retain symbol, interval, bar-start instant and source identity as the bar key. A receive timestamp is another field. For a Singapore diary, display the same full bar start in UTC+8 without creating a second bar when the local date differs.

Audit a fictional snapshot sequence

Suppose three supplied messages share one bar key and report cumulative volume 10,14 and 17. If their schema defines replacement snapshots, the final supplied volume is 17 rather than 41. A later message with a different bar-start key belongs to another bar.

If the last supplied version is still provisional, the bar is not confirmed final merely because no later message was saved. Keep that missing finality evidence visible. A final candle also does not establish that an account executed anywhere inside its high-low range.

Separate chart research from account results

The original OHLCV resource on this site remains the companion. Actual account review needs unique executions, costs and the provider’s current valuation and evaluation conditions. A complete bar series cannot supply private fills or a pass probability.

The optional sponsored HashHedge link offers programme information. This page opens no data stream, trades no candle and forecasts no price move. Its useful result is one correctly identified bar and an honest record of whether closure was actually observed.
